Info from WWI Medals: Army no. 11200 Pte A. G. Poole Army Cyc Corps: Note that his initials are reversed. Gran told Dad that he joined the army before the war and then deserted : this would explain why he may have re-enlisted with his names reversed. I visited the National Archives on 20 Oct 2005 and was unable to find any trace of his Military Record.
