George Harold Read:

When age 14 (1912) while out walking by mill stream on bank of Leicester Canal he fell

over weir into deep turbulent water. Added shock caused by other boys who did not

try to rescue him until his brother hauled him out.

Followed by condition diagnosed as St Vitus Dance. George was sent to stay with his

grandmother at Wellingborough. Returned after four months. Later diagnosed as Valvular

Disease of the heart.

Died February 1st 1927 after a cold, referred to as influenza on death certificate
